An Idaho Skunk

No, I'm not talking about the smelly little black and white skunks that like to spray you if you get too close. I'm talking about the skunk when you are left with nothing on the end of your fishing line.

I just spent 2 AWESOME days on the Clearwater River in Orofino, Idaho. AMAZING even if I didn't catch a single salmon. I was able to go on this awesome trip through my company who likes to award jobs that have had a good record of safety in a big way. This year, an all expense trip for 5 different employees on my job site to Idaho for some fun salmon fishing.
I was able to bring my good friend Amy Carter to share in this experience. We each had some good fights and lost 2 at the edge of the boat. I was a little bummed to not be able to bring home my own salmon, but it was priceless watching Amy reel in a nice 31" 16 lb. beast of a fish at the end of day 2. I think her cheeks still hurt from smiling so big!
An overall great weekend with a good friend. Everyone needs a fishing buddy, even if it ends in a skunk!

Oh yeah! I love that you get to be close to Yorkies as well. If you are ever in CO or we are in MT, we will have to go fishing together. Love and miss you!
